Track Processor: If you switch to the edit dialog of a track there will be a tab called “Filter”. Thanks for the nice blog about QMapShack. For now I will import all the data into both applications, but if QMapShack holds its promises from the first day of usage, I am confident that this will not be necessary in future. Next I also want to help QMapShack, first by trying to provide a translation into Japanese, and than see what kind of features I am missing or want to have.įinally, above all, I see a future where I do not need to reboot into Windows for doing my GPS work. This is a bit painful, but I didn’t expect that it will work without some manual tweaking. Since I have a few years of history here, I need to create for each trip a new project and copy the tracks/waypoints/routes for that trip into the project. Import all the Japan related data from QuoVadis to QMapShack – unfortunately there is no script or tool to do this automatically. This, too, is extremely useful to clear out wrong GPS points (due to bad reception etc).Īlthough these two functionalities are missing, all in all I am very happy for now with QMapShack. Visual track editor: In QuoVadis one can edit a track with a visual tool that allows to delete, move, shift points and line segments on the fly.For a normally day-trip I usually boil down to 300 points a track, which completely suffices to show the actual track. A very useful tool which I use on each track before uploading it to my blog. Track Processor: it allows you to smoothen a track, reduce the number of points, etc. Thanks to Oliver for pointing me at it! After some time of working there are a few functions from QuoVadis I am missing for now at QMapShack: QMapShack does provide similar functionality. Update: Please see the comment section for explanation of the necessary functions. Also the display of the Garmin map worked perfectly. After rebooting to Linux, I loaded the gpx file into QMapShack and without failure all the tracks and routes showed up, as it can be seen in the above screenshot (click on it to get a bigger version). Next I switched to Windows and exported some tracks from my Japan folder to a gpx file. Connecting the unit and mounting it was already enough to show up in QMapShack, and allowed me to copy the tracks to my local database. Next step was to download a data from my last weekend trip to Yarigadake, Kitakama-ridge (unfortunately we had to turn back due to rain). Getting used to QMapShack is a bit a challenge coming from QuoVadis, but the Wiki help pages allowed a quick start. Fortunately, QMapShack supports Garmin vector maps, the only maps that are (as far as I know) available digitally for Japan. Dealing with GPS units is not a problem, this is the easy part. QMapShack is far from as feature rich as QuoVadis, but as far as I see now, it does have enough features for me and my mountaineering in Japan. So for most of the GPS work I had to reboot my laptop to Windows, do my stuff there, and then switch back to Linux. ![]() For some time I had a VirtualBox installation of Windows, but that was more a clutch than anything else. For serious work as a professional it was indispensable for me. I could use the digital raster maps of Austria, Switzerland (SwissTOPO), Germany, France, Italy, as well as Garmin vector maps. While working as mountain guide in Europe it was an essential tool for me. It is extremely feature-rich, and above all it can work with many different maps. QuoVadis is a great program, there is nothing to complain. Let us start with the program I was using since ages, and still are using, QuoVadis. Fortunately, Garmin Maps are supported, and since all my maps regarding Japan are Garmin maps, I am now in the process to converting to QMapShack at least for my Japan GPS data. The one big difference is of course the set of maps one can use with QMapShack. QMapShack is very similar in the target audience, but very different in usage. ![]() It only has one disadvantage, it doesn’t work on Linux. ![]() ![]() I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable they were, and even more surprised when I discovered that they offered such great quality and artist-centered design for the price. When I was first looking for a lightbox, I had a pretty tight budget, and that’s when I stumbled upon the Huion L series. And the best part? It’s all available at a very low price, which makes it accessible for artists and crafters on a budget. Plus, it’s super thin and light, with a solid acrylic work surface, so it’s easy to take with me wherever I go. The built-in ruler and overall design of the Huion A Series lightbox make it a great choice for all kinds of creative projects. These lightboxes are popular among artists and crafters for a reason – they’re reliable, easy to use, and provide great value for the price. Three of them are from the affordable AC-powered A series, and the other four are from the portable USB- and battery-powered L series. Huion offers a range of different lightboxes, but there are seven in particular that I think are worth considering. I can personally attest to this – I’ve been using a Huion lightbox for years, and it still works just as well as the day I bought it. In a fantasy world in which monsters and enemy heroes have been lurking for 20 years, in which we roam the world round after round, fight battles, conquer, expand and defend cities, recruit troops, cast spells, hoard resources, pick up artifacts, our heroes always continue to improve. But in the round strategy game Might & Magic: Heroes 7 it actually applies, it is based on the two most popular series parts 3 and 5, and you can tell from the epic right away. They got really big for me! ”“ Shut up! ”Calls out hero number three,“ that’s why I’m the most popular! ”Other tavern guests murmur approvingly, a couple of young women languish at him heartily. Six heroes meet in the tavern, at the Might & Magic regulars’ table. Is that enough in the test to send round strategists to seventh heaven? Might & Magic: Heroes 7 wants to combine the best of the previous series parts. MMH7 simplifies the business of hero progression as well, while still providing many options, chiefly through the introduction of a skill wheel that lets you put points in everything from Leadership for troop boosts to bonuses for actual combat attacks. They’re drab at first, but rather impressive to behold once everything’s in place. Gone, for instance, are the 3D towns in their place, Limbic introduces 2D town maps where you can create and upgrade new troops and buildings through an intuitive progression tree. There’s also a drive for simplification at work here - one that’s aimed at bringing the series back to its roots and stripping away the chaff that’s worked its way in since the late ’90s. It’s a shame, then, that Limbic’s efforts at prettifying the world and characters sometimes backfire, as in the ways that the seven resources (like wood and ore) sometimes get lost in the busy details of the otherwise-attractive maps. The few other additions to the old formula chiefly amount to eye candy, as in the dynamic events that sometimes pop up on the overworld map, such as when an ogre smashes a key bridge in two with a boulder. Dynamic events sometimes pop up on the overworld map, such as when an ogre smashes a key bridge in two with a boulder. That’s all here, and there’s virtually nothing here that hasn’t been seen before aside from a welcome addition in the ability to deal additional damage to enemies by flanking them with multiple soldiers. Finding one of the latter means jumping into strategic battles that superficially resemble Holochess from Star Wars, and where your named heroes dish out damage and protect their minions for the sidelines. True to the series, this is a turn-based game about sending heroes out to explore a world shrouded in a fog of war, where they find resources, allies, and foes hidden throughout. ![]() To its credit, MMH7 generally gets the broad strokes right. ![]() ![]() ![]() To define sinus node dysfunction, both of the symptoms and the EKG findings has to be present. Age showed the greatest significance as a risk factor for having sinus node dysfunction. The incidence of sinus node dysfunction was 0. However, according to a pooled analysis from two extensive studies that included 20572 patients with a mean age of 59 years old, 43% were males, who researchers followed for an average of 17 years. The study of epidemiology is difficult in sinus node dysfunction due to the variable disease manifestations and ECG findings. Miscellaneous: Other disorders that can rarely cause sinus node dysfunction to include hypothyroidism, hypothermia, and hypoxia. įamilial: Sinus node dysfunction in rare cases can be the result of cardiac sodium channel mutations of SCN5A and HCN4 genes. Almost all such cases are present in inferior myocardial infarction. Narrowing of this artery can lead to impairment of the sinus node function leading to sinus node dysfunction that can be potentially reversible. Ischemia: The sinus node is perfused by the sinoatrial nodal artery, which arises from the right coronary artery in 60 % of the time and from the left circumflex artery in 40 % of the time. Infiltrative disease: The SA node tissue can be affected during the disease process of some of the infiltrative diseases such as amyloidosis, sarcoidosis, scleroderma, hemochromatosis, and pericarditis leading to sinus node dysfunction. Medication: Prescription medications can depress the sinus node function, potentially resulting in sinus node dysfunction include: beta blocker, non-dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers, digoxin, antiarrhythmic medications, and acetylcholinesterase inhibitors. Sinus Node Fibrosis: Replacement of the sinus node tissue by fibrous tissue is the most common cause of sinus node dysfunction, the replacement can also include other parts of the conduction system, including the AV node. Both could result from abnormal mechanisms, including fibrosis, atherosclerosis, and inflammatory/infiltrative processes. Sinus node dysfunction results from the abnormal automaticity, conduction, or both of the sinoatrial node and surrounding tissues. Sinus node dysfunction can be associated with atrial tachycardia as part of the tachycardia-bradycardia syndrome. ![]() Or the failure of the return of SA nodal activity after electrical cardioversion. Per definition, sinus node dysfunction should include symptoms and EKG findings simultaneously such as sinus bradycardia, sinus pauses or arrest, sinus exit blocks, or chronotropic incompetence (inadequate heart rate response to activity).
